How much and when is it due?
As with any consultant, you’ll need to find out in advance how much the consultants time is going to cost as well as a ballpark figure for the actually technology itself. Also make sure you know when payment is due because IT gurus are notorious for building in timed locks that will cripple your system if payment is not received in a timely manner.
With each client contract we specify a service and payment schedule at the outset of the project. This assures you that there is a signed document pointing to the service we are committed to providing and details for us the schedule of payment terms you will commit to. That said, we understand that small businesses often operate on a tight budget and we are able to amend the payment schedule if the circumstances require doing so.
A basic rate to expect is $30 per hour for most web design projects with a maximum for each project. Sites range in price from $299 to $8,000 depending upon the necessary applications.
